I wanted to provide you an update regarding Personal theft (e.g. pick pocketing, no violence used), which some members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey. On FRIDAY 9TH JANUARY 2026, CLERKENWELL Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) worked in partnership with CALEDONIAN SNT in a plain clothes operation on EXMOUTH MARKET. This was positive action by police to tackle theft of personal property in area.
As a result of this operation police saw a significant decrease in crime related incidents in the area due to Clerkenwell SNT persistent target foot patrol in area and local business working together to combat crime. The increase in police presence as act as a deterrent to opportunities crime in the area.
Clerkenwell SNT now works closely with local businesses in the area to detect, deter, and eliminate all crime related incidents.
